I just finished my 150 hour project for level four. I chose to knit a lap blanket for my mom using Shetland and Cotswold. It really turned out beautifully. The blanket used 2 ply bulky yarn (thin strand morrit shetland, thick strand cotswold). This blanket was made from our very first Cotswold lamb ("Courage").
And, yes this blanket has a story behind it! Pictures will be posted soon.
This blog is a log of all the projects I do along the way to get my Master Spinners program done. Please follow my posts as I explore the world of fiber arts!

Spin Off Article
I had been reading past spin off magazine articles, when the thought came to write an article about educating the next generation (from a youth's view). So, I just submitted it and we will have to see how it goes. I included many personal experiences.

More fun!
Where did I leave off? Oh, in Livermore, CA. Next we went to Death Valley. After the drive, I was a little disappointed as there was nothing but the road! No shops, hotels or other fun things to do. So we kept driving. We went though Las Vagas on our way to the Ranch in Kerryville, Tx. I will post pictures of the goats at the ranch later this week.
MASTER SPINNER UPDATE:
I am almost done with level four and am getting ready for level five. I am right now finishing up the dye project. I just keep pushing myself. Keep looking for updates~!

Long Past Two Weeks.....
WOW! Life truly has been crazy these past couple of weeks, but I am lovn it all! Our family planned a trip out West to visit National Parks, as well as friends along the way. We started out the trip by driving to Salt Lake City, UT, next came the hike to OR for Black Sheep Gathering. I really enjoyed going to see all the vendors and meeting up with Fred Speck (Angora Goat judge). Our family learned more about judging fleeces and goats and were happy to meet him, as the following weekend we would be going to his ranch to pick out our own flock of White Angora Goats. On our way down to Livermore, California we stoped at Crater Lake National Park. Crater Lake was so very beautiful (when asked to compare it with Lake Louise, I really could not), they were both beautiful and special in their own way! In Livermore, Ca we visited with our family friends and had a blast....
I am need to go finish the laundry, so I write the rest later.

New Update
This past weekend has been CRAZY! I took the SAT this past Saturday and then went straight to the local spinners meeting. Then Sunday we had church and a fireside later in the evening.
As far as the Master Spinners project, I am sending level three in this week. I still have to do the dye project (which I am half way done with), using one natural dye to produce 25 different hues.
Hope all is well with all of you. I would love to hear your comments of my blog updates.
I will post more pictures when I start level four. Thanks everyone for everything you do!!!!

Finishing Level 3 and Starting Level 4
Boy! This past month has been crazy. I am getting ready to take the ACT (12th) and SAT (5th), plus I am finishing level 3. Everything has been flying by so fast. I keep reminding myself that I will finish by Sept. and I know I will (good pep talk, huh?)! Anyways, I promise more pictures soon. Our family website http://millennialwayfarm.com/ & http://shopcelestialstudio.com/ are finished. I am working on designing my own website for webdesign and photography business that I am starting. So, if you know anyone who needs a website have them email me.
I need to go. I post more later.

Surprize Package!!!
Yesterday a package came from Miss Babs. It was such a treat to open. She had sent many different fibers and yarns for dying that will be used in the up coming levels. THANKS SO MUCH! I am going to post pictures of the sample yarn I spun up this past week (look for them on Munday or Tuesday!). Thanks everyone!

Marking for Level Two
I just recieved my mark for level two (80%), which I think is really good since it is really hard to know what they are looking for this far away. I am half way done with level three, which they are doing on trial since no one has ever done this level homestudy.
I want to say how sorry I am that I have not written much the past month or so. I promise to post more pictures of level three later this week.
Happy Spinning!

Giving Back -Heifer Class-
This week has been more than crazy! Anyways, because I have had so many things to do each day, yesterday night was the only time I had to pack for my class at Heifer. The class turned out well, and many were interested. I hope that I can continue to share with others, as others have done for me.
