THANKSGIVING!

Thanksgiving time is here again!

My parents decided that for Thanksgiving we would travel to MN to visit family. My mom told us Thursday morning and started packing. Friday morning (4 am) she got us all in the car and we were on the road. My dad will fly in Wednesday night and and then we will all drive home Saturday.

This coming Friday is my 18th BIRTHDAY! I can't wait.

Anyways, that's the update for this week. I will post more pictures of what I am working on in a week or so.

Thanks for all you guys do for me!

Fiber Blends From Level Five

These yarns were spun for level five. All turned out very nice, and I was pleased with them all.

I am working on finishing level five, and then want to start level six! I can't wait to finish this project. I am hoping to finish by the first of the year (just 2 months after the year mark!!!!).

Keep looking for my latest updates and chack back often!

Dyed Yarns

This yarn was spun by my mother. I handpainted the roving which was 100% Bamboo. I love how it turned out.
These next photos are of the color blending skeins for level five. My favorite was the (pink w/ light blue) skein that I named "fly fishing"!
"Fly Fishing" & "Stars and Stripes Forever"
 The heathering and garneting skeins.
Opps... this picture was supposed to be on the bottom. It is of the yarns I am using for the assignments to spin yarn for a specific project.

And the last, but not least the final skeins for the color blending project.

Scarves!

Cotton Scarf - Level five yarns were dyed and then knitted in to a project.
Upclose picture of the knitted scarf!
Bamboo woven scarf (50 hour project) for level five. I wove it using white 100% Bamboo handspun yarn, and then dyed it! I love how it turned out. Next time I think I would try to spin the Bamboo thicker so the scarf would be wider. This project could also be used as a belt!
One of two up close pictures.
Don't you just love it?

YUMMY Alpaca Yarn

Jan's (my friend) roving she wants me to spin.

Some of the finished yarn from the roving above!
The next few photos are of alpaca and alpaca/bamboo yarns I spun. Not only do these yarns look pretty, but the alpaca/bamboo blend was a dream to spin! The fibers used to make these skeins were donated from Janet T. Thanks a bunch!

Alpaca

These alpaca yarns were spun this week, as I was trying to show a friend what singles and plied alpaca yarns look like. She wanted me to spin up her Suri Alpaca National Fleece Champion 2009 fleecce that she had made into roving. The fleece was really soft, and I am glad to be working with it!

Levels 4 & 5

This is an update on my project!

Level four is now in the mail and I will be getting a grade soon.

Level five is started and I will post pictures of the projects later next week!

Keep checking back often. Thanks to ALL my sponsors for their help and support. I could have not done it without you!!!!

The Way Home!

Yeah! I am almost done posting pictures of the whole trip! After the festival, we drove down to PA (where we used to live) and saw old friends. It really was nice to see everyone one again! After spending a day or so there, we drove to Nauvoo, IL (another church historic site) and took many pictures there. I was happy to be getting home, but sad to see the trip come to a close.

I hope everyone has enjoyed seeing the pictures!

Rhinebeck Festival

These are just a few of my favorite pictures from the NY Sheep & Wool Festival! Our family had a wonderful time visiting with old friends, shopping and seeing all the animals.

The puppy was SO adorable, I wanted to take him home with me... but mom said no!!!! At least I have the beautiful photo as a memory.
