150 Hour Project (Level 4)
This project was designed for my Mom, as she wanted a lap throw to match her bedroom. The throw has a special meaning to our family as it was made from our first lamb’s fleece. When we moved to Pennsylvania my parents wanted to start a family fiber business. We picked Cotswold sheep (because we wanted a rare breed), so we traveled to Maine to pick out of first three lambs. About a year later we were having new gates put on our pastures, and the men (my dad and the guys installing the gates) chose to put our two rams in the same pen, while putting the gates on. Anyways, “Courage” (the white Cotswold) chose to ram “Vision” (the black Cotswold) who was standing by our stone barn wall. Courage ran towards Vision, but Vision moved and Courage hit the stone wall. A few months went by and Courage pasted away, so every time we see this throw it reminds us of our first ram and our experiences on this fiber journey.
